Good afternoon, students and faculty. I am Jess Akiko Faith McConnell and I am a nominee for your class president. This is such a fine school, but there are still many problems I must address. One of the most pressing issues is that all students here are equal to each other. There can and will be cliques, as this is a school, and it is certain you may not like all your classmates. But please, treat them as you would yourself or your best friend. If we all have our best intrests at heart, we should be able to get along. Make friends, and only be friends with someone if you truly like them, not because they are popular or you want something from them. I'm not saying you should snub anyone. Just be who you want to be, not what anyone else wants you to be.
Similarly related is the old cheer squad. It went on before I was here at school, but I would like to address the issue as much as I can. If you are ever feeling like someone is treating you as an inferior, please talk to them in a calm way. Perhaps it is merely a misunderstanding. Often, misunderstandings can cause the worst fights between friends and aquantinces. The cheer squad was ment as a special club, so what if you don't get in? It's just a made-up club, nothing more. Please put it behind you. The member who tried to start the club has apoligized repeatedly, she really wants this board to do well. I think we can have a new start with the new cheer club that anyone is allowed to join. If everyone will cooperate, we should be able to co-exist peacefully at this school. And I'd be happy to run it.
Remember, a vote for McConnell is a vote for a better education.
